Zack Hilt
Post-Doctoral Associate
Zack grew up in Rochester, NY where he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology at St. John Fisher College in 2014. He then went across town to the University of Rochester where he finished his Ph.D. Translational Biomedical Science in 2020. While at the University of Rochester, Zack studied how platelets regulate monocyte and macrophages responses to myocardial infarction and age-related heart failure in the lab of Craig Morrell. Despite his best efforts at trying to finally leave New York, he couldn’t resist a spot as a Postdoc in the Rudd Lab. As a member of the Rudd Lab, Zack studies CD8+ T cells response to congenital CMV infection.
When Zack isn’t in the lab he is most likely running/racing on the local roads and trails. But when he finally makes it home, he is likely spending quality time with his fiance and two adorable cats.
